Using a combination of techniques from pinching and coiling to slab building, Linda works directly with the clay and uses very few tools or equipment. The processes Linda uses are very time consuming and she works on several pieces at a time, rotating around them adding a few coils or individual petals to her flower forms. There are many pieces that don’t make it through the various stages of production.
Linda is heavily influenced by nature and her environment and draws inspiration from her own garden and the grounds at Renishaw Hall as well as the landscape in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire. Linda strives to make organic pieces that reflect the tranquillity and calm that can be found in experiencing nature and is particularly drawn to seed pods, aeoneums, magnolias, chrysanthemums and artichokes.
