“The way an object feels to hold and use are important considerations while creating work. My aim is to capture the fluidity of raw clay within the finished pieces.”
Helen works in porcelain and finishes all her work with clear and coloured food safe glazes ensuring that her work can be used and enjoyed every day
Her forms are hand-thrown on a wheel before being layered with oxides, decals, slips and imprints. Every single piece is unique.
Helen takes her inspiration from beach combing the shoreline for treasure and sea-worn pottery. The unique surface of every piece evokes a story every time the piece is used, intriguing the eye and imagination.
